    MediaTek HyperEngine

MediaTek HyperEngine enhances every aspect of smartphone gaming because every millisecond matters. In its 5th generation, gamers benefit from low-latency 5G and Wi-Fi connections with intelligent multi-network balancing, fine-tuned resource management that boosts and sustains FPS while maximizing battery life, and new AI-based imaging enhancements that leverage MediaTek’s powerful NPU.

Smartphones can now offer hardware and software tuning parameters, giving users the freedom to choose the level of gaming performance and power savings through tools such as Frame Rate Smoother, Smart Resource Optimization, AI-VRS, MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0, as well as more traditional image tuning options.

AI-VRS (AI-based Variable Rate Shading) uses AI processor assistance to perform Dynamic Region of Interest Rendering. This technology analyzes and identifies focal areas of in-game details or motion, then selectively reduces render quality in non-focal areas, improving power efficiency by up to 10%.

Smart Resource Optimization for CPU and GPU threads enhances the potential for multi-core computing, increasing power efficiency by an average of 8%.

Frame Rate Smoother ensures a smoother in-game experience by avoiding FPS dips, stuttering, and jitter. By managing the SoC to maintain a target FPS, gameplay remains fast, responsive, and smooth, while the smartphone benefits from staying notably cooler, and gameplay sessions last even longer.
    Ray-tracing
The world’s first Hybrid AI-GPU Super Resolution technology for gaming on Android. By combining the capabilities of the GPU and NPU, the AI processors intelligently upscale resolution and enhance image quality, freeing GPU resources for improved performance or power savings.

The MediaTek Ray Tracing SDK for Android game developers is now available. It provides access to the first AI-based denoiser for ray-traced lighting, improving the final rendered image. As the first Vulkan-based SDK available, developers can easily leverage AI-GPU technology to eliminate any specular irregularities produced by their ray tracing algorithms.

By connecting a smartphone with a MediaTek Wi-Fi Fast Path-enabled chipset, such as the Dimensity 9000, to home routers powered by MediaTek Filogic 830 Wi-Fi 6/6E platforms, gaming-related Wi-Fi streams can be prioritized, resulting in up to 3x lower latency (up to 44% reduction), even in heavily congested networking environments.

Smart Wi-Fi Antenna 2.0 dynamically detects signal quality and adjusts antenna usage to optimize the signal, enhancing the Wi-Fi connection when the smartphone is used in a gaming (horizontal) orientation.

Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Hybrid Coexistence 2.0 maximizes the use of multiple Wi-Fi antennas by intelligently integrating Bluetooth signals, ensuring that Wi-Fi performance is maintained even when Bluetooth headsets and peripherals are connected simultaneously. Wi-Fi latency is reduced by up to 68% compared to non-hybrid designs while using Bluetooth headsets for in-game voice chat, making phone calls, streaming game audio, or playing with wireless gamepads.

5G Modem Express allows users to add their favorite apps and games to a whitelist, prioritizing these network connections and data packets.

MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 is dynamic technology that intelligently adjusts the display refresh rate according to the detected game frame rate, ensuring smooth viewing experiences during intense action or when the most responsive scenarios are needed, rather than during cut-scenes, loadout selection, or map changes.

Gamers will benefit from the most immediate GPU-to-display pipeline ever, giving them an edge in competition where millisecond reaction times make a difference. In situations where the GPU cannot generate FPS to match the maximum display refresh rate, MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 will adjust the refresh rate in real-time to align with GPU performance, while also managing the GPU-to-display pipeline to virtually eliminate inter-frame latency.

Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Isochronous Channels, utilizing the latest LC3 encoding, provides users with Bluetooth LE Audio featuring Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio. The combination of MediaTek’s technology and LC3 encoding enables twice as much bandwidth for improved sound quality in gaming, voice calls, video and music streaming, and more compared to older mSBC encoding, while also reducing latency by up to 32%.
